Seems like buying clothes online can sometimes be a letdown..its either the color that is so deceiving, the size that doesnt seem to fit just right, the material that supposed to be of good quality, the items being snapped up so damn fast or the delay after delay purchases that make you so disappointed. I totally agree that using a pretty face sells. So if I ever start an online blog shop, I would definitely engage a pretty face to sell my items. But nevertheless, I have since diverted my attention to buying BAGS online..and the results are truly satisfying. My bags purchases so far include:

and obviously they are all pink bags..Loves em' so much..Its really what you see its what you get..Trust me..Maybe bags are the next alternative if you had similar disappointed clothing experiences like me.. *winks*

I guess I have abandoned this blog for the longest time ever. So I finally found something that I like and I am back with a new blog skin.

Work is normal for me. Facing challenges at work and learning to multitask so as to optimise my work efficiency. Time flies and I am still with the same company for over 2 years already. I have learnt so much from my manager, my colleagues and I believe that these skills and knowledge will be with me throughout my whole career path. The job economy is ok but not fantastic either. I really hope it will pick up soon. Really glad to graduate 2 years back and need not worry about my living expenses compared to those graduating now. I should be happy with I have..

Btw, go try the new Jack & Jill Potato Chips in Unagi and Seaweed flavor..its super good! Its a shaker chips so you would have to add the seaweed flavoring into the chips and shake it out. Go try it! About $1+ in NTUC Fairprice Supermarket..

It has been sooo long since i last updated cause i was quite busy with work.

The atmosphere for New Year this year is not the same anymore. =( New year food goodies doesnt seem so special anymore, decorations are not so fantastic and my Ang bao collection has dropped! haha maybe because i am already working and people start to give lesser? or it is something to do with the economic downturn? but anyhow won some $$ from playing black jack..so addictive!

I will be going Bangkok end Feburary..something to look forward to! really hope it is safe to go there now..wonder which place to go at the end of the year..maybe korea or japan?

Valentine's day is coming...still thinking what should i get for Kelvin..it will be our second one together..and i feel that it is our honeymoon everyday..wonder when was the last time we disagreed on something.. =)

My laptop is back..it was weird to live without my laptop, internet, MSN..

I am clearing leave now..one more week of enjoyment before the start of 2009..Leaving for KL & Genting this Sunday..cant wait..and we managed to change our Ringgit at 2.4!

I was at the Zoo with Kelvin, my sis and her bf last Saturday. The zoo has changed so much. Will upload the zoo pictures soon..then we went to watch Twilight in the evening..to me, it was a romance-vampire novel..the beginning was abit hard to follow since i have not read Stephenie Meyer's books before..but the script did gradually captured my attention..i never knew Vampires could be "vegetarian"..interesting ya?

How did you guys spend your Christmas Day? I was at my Uncle's place on Christmas Eve..a yearly affair..my cousins have all grown up to become pretty young ladies..it seemed like yesterday where we were just playing barbie dolls, monopoly, playing hopscotch..now we have all moved on and progressed with our lives..i only have one nephew on my dad's side and the rest are all girls..Really hoped to catch up with them soon..since we only meet up during the festive occasions..

We watched Bedtime Stories on Christmas Day..it was a hilarious movie taking into consideration that Adam Sandler was the lead actor. Bugsy the guinea pig is so cute..he has REALLY big round eyes.. (look below and you will see what i mean)

Go catch Bolt! It is about a dog who thinks he is a superhero but in reality he is just an actor acting in an action-packed movie. The producers of the movie could'nt tell him the truth for fear that it would affect his "acting skills". One day he gets lost and he meets a cat and a hamster who thought him on how to be a true home dog.

What amuses me its the friendship of a dog, a cat and a hamster. It really reminds me of Tom & Jerry. And i wouldnt mind watching it again..

I was at Downtown East yesterday watching another movie, "Four Christmases" with my poly friend and her friends. Downtown East has changed so much. There is so much shops and restaurants with New York New York, The Cathay (the seats are so spacious!)..etc. Nice show to catch for this seasons holiday.

It is about this couple (played by Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon) who do not celebrate Christmas with their families and they always escape it by lying that they are away for charity work (their parents are divorced, hence the title "Four Christmases"). But this year it was different as their trip to Fuji was cancelled due to the weather conditions. So out of no choice, they had to go visiting the 4 families. From there, they learnt about family bonding and even starting a family together..

My sis is off to Japan for her one week holiday with her bf and his friends..I hope to go there next year..so must save $$$..Despite the gloom in the economy, I am glad we are still getting our bonus. Though June's one was much much better, at least $$$ is rolling in since I have already booked my KL and Bangkok trips..How I wish I can go backpacking to Europe..it will be fun to plan your own itinerary, take photos, get out of Singapore stress working life and experience other countries' culture..

Its coming 2 years and I am getting quite comfortable with my position. Having to change a job means to send out resume, wait for their call, go for interviews, wait for the outcome, go for more rounds of interviews, wait for their decision, think of whether to go or stay at your current job, worry about fitting into the new organization, handing over ur current work to ur colleagues, packing up ur desk, rest a couple of days, then start orientation, wait for pay day..and the cycle repeats itself..all the way till you retire..

Just bought Agnes B stuff from my friend..at a real good deal at 1/3 the retail price..a pink wallet and a pink cardcase..nice..i think her friend got it from Japan's warehouse sale..so it was worth it.. =)

Christmas is coming..i am wondering what to get for Kelvin..one for his birthday, our anniversary and Christmas..or maybe i should just combine all into one big one...Couple of my friends are getting married, some ROM, some bought a flat, some who are not attached are attached now..am i moving on to the next phase of life..? where i will hear wedding bells..will it be my turn as well???

We just booked a one night at KL and two nights at Genting at the end of dec 2008. It will be a combine celebration for Christmas, Kel's birthday, our anniversary and the New Year's countdown..I cant wait..I miss shopping at KL's chinatown..they have lots of "fake goods" that are of A grade over there..and i miss Genting's "roulette machine vs yourself"..i prefer playing with machines than at the real tables..you play it at your own pace, you get to sit down, you dont have to squeeze with other players and you can choose a non-smoking area...Each pax at $220..

Counting down to my trip in less than a month..December will be a short working month for me..

Its coming end November and soon it will be Christmas..which means i have about a month to clear my 7 days annual leave and 2 days off in lieu..yeah! i will be taking them on mondays, fridays...so i will have a long weekend..

There is so much i want to do..clear up my room, fold my clothes, arrange my shoes, tidy up my accessories, stack up my bags, throw away my school books, pack up my beauty products..i think i will take forever...my room is getting quite messy le..so much things in there..and i am buying more to make them even more messy..and i am going bangkok..i think i need another room..

I was at my colleague's wedding dinner last Sunday. It was held at Concorde Hotel (the then Le Meridien Hotel). It had a nice reception area and my colleague had 43 tables..i must say that was a whole lot of tables..The overall ambience was alright and the food was not bad..There were 2 dishes with abalones..yumyum! There were dry ice (like Swensen's ice cream cake) and flower petals scattered all over the red carpet...It was a beautiful march in.. =)

Northpoint at Yishun is having a major revamp with big tenants coming in..there is Xin Wang, National Library..and there is a pet shop at their basement..which leads to why my entry is called "Animals"...because these cute little hammies look so lovely and adorable when they sleep..but i dont think i will ever rear them again cause if they pass on i will be pretty upset..so i dont wanna bring myself through this pain again..look at them..awww...so cute!

Then that night, when we were walking to Kel's house, something caught my attention..something black...something pertruding out of the window..it was like a Supercat..! seriously..

here is a closer look of the cat..it was like the cat was "moon-tanning" or committing suicide? i was praying hard that the cat wont fall..i mean which house owner would allow their pet to do this kind of thing? but it was pretty hilarious..a real eye-opener..=)

Goodbye to 2008

We watched Quantum of Solace today (organized by SMRT). Not bad. Very action pack. O reminds me, dont ever watch 20th Century Boys. It sucks. This is the first movie that made us walked out of the theatre halfway. It was horrible with poor plot and lousy actors.

This weekend will be busy for me. Saturday going to the Zoo. My sis managed to get 3 tickets for free. So the 4 of us (My sis, her bf, Kel and I) will share and pay for the 4th ticket. On Sunday, i will be going for my colleague's wedding dinner at Le Meridien (Now called Concorde Hotel). So I cant join my "Petals and Stem" gang for a gathering and catch up session.. =(

Recently, I am eyeing on the pink Honda Jazz...$50k plus...nice..

And I want a pink princess room..with pretty pink stars on the walls, bedsheets with pink laces, fluffy pink pillows, pink teddy bears all over the bed...it will really make my day when I come home..this will be my future room with Kelvin..hehe..thanks darling!

Wedding dinner at JB

Me and kel were at a colleague's wedding dinner at JB yesterday and my perception was that it would be just be a normal seafood restaurant. But i was wrong...One of our colleague drove in and I must say that even though the place was a little hard to find (maybe becoz we are Sporeans), it is a popular place amongst the malaysians to hang out or hold their wedding banquet..The place is called Sutera..It has a big plot of land with many carpark spaces and 2 huge buildings - one for shopping (2 floors) with Carrefour as one of their key tenants and the other for holding wedding dinners (3 halls). The banquet halls were full that night.

Malaysia's chinese wedding is somewhat similar to Singapore's chinese wedding with the popular "Yam Seng", showing of videos with the groom performing many hilarious stunts before entering the bride's room. But what made it interesting was that the dinner came with life singing and dancing performances by transvestites.

On top of that, it had a huge hall with high ceiling, courteous waiteresses and nice food. Maybe Singaporeans should consider holding their wedding dinner elsewhere, out of our hometown and not just follow the norm in holding at hotels..Besides, it is so much cheaper..check out their prices and it is in RM some more!

I think this is madness...I just went Taipei recently and then last Sunday i went Genting with my colleagues for 3 days 2 nights...and guess what? I am going Batam this weekend with Kelvin, my sis and her bf..I have already spend a thousand at Taipei and a couple of hundreds at Genting and now another hundred at Batam..

I think i have rested too much..i will update with pics when i can..

The economy is bad, will people be spending lesser on gifts this Christmas?

I am starting to disrespect YYY..

1. XXX lost our current contract and XXX wanted to charge the competitor who won the contract the same price for using back the item we paid for the customer originally. Guess what was YYY reply?

"How can you even think of charging this at the same price...How can someone like you with normal EQ think like that?"

2. YYY gave a quote to the customer and it was actually at a loss. YYY totally forgot about it and claimed that we quoted it. And guess what YYY said?

"Please use your left brain and right brain to think"

3. I had to write a memo to pay my supplier for job rendered..and you know how memo is like..you have to write your story, blah blah blah...and we had to hold back payment because...

"I cant sign this memo! It will make me lose my job. Are you going to raise my kids for me?"

OMG..!

Taipei - Day 2

Day 2 at Taipei

We started of the day with the one day tour package to the following places:

1. Shrine (9-9.30am)

It was a performance conducted by the army where they do marching around the shrine. According to the tour guide, only the toughest ones get to perform for the crowd to see.

2. Tea ceremony lesson, buying of Taiwan's famous biscuits (MUST buy) and a visit to the jade museum (Rest of the morning)

3. Jiou Fen (1.30pm-2.45pm)

I would definitely recommend following a tour to Jiou Fen and Ye liou. Initially, i wanted to visit these places on our own. Luckily we did not, as taking a bus and walking to the destination will be quite troublesome.

After a 50 minutes ride to Jiou Fen, we had to take the public bus up to the hill where the market was. We managed to get a seat on the bus because our tour guide knew the bus drivers there. =) It was quite a short journey up and the mountain scenery was nice. A hustle and bustle place where not only tourists and locals frequently visit during the weekends. We tried their yummy snacks like big fishball noodles (MUST try, check out how humongous the fishball is. You can try the mixed soup with fishball, sotongball and meatball), fried potato, fried mushroom, bbq sotong, fried muah chee (MUST buy), beef noodle soup (can don't try).

# Tip 1 - Taiwan's way of saying nu rou tang (beef soup) is without noodles, so if you want noodles you would need to say nu rou mian (beef noodle). If you are traveling with your partner, always order one serving so that you can order and try other types of snacks.

4. Ye Liou (About an hour ride to Ye Liou where we stayed from 4 - 5pm)

A nice scenic place at the Pacific Ocean. Do go and see the Queen's head. These rocks formation are caused by the volcano eruption. Not really recommended for old folks as there is lots of walking and the ground is uneven.

5. Hot Spring at Yang Ming Shan (7-7.40pm)

The rest of the tourists didnt want to try the hot spring so the tour guide dropped them at their hotel at Xi Men Ding while Kelvin and myself carried on with the tour. It was a 40 minutes hot spring bath with sulphur water. (MUST try) Very relaxing and nice mountain view. =)

6. Shilin Night Market (8-11pm)

The bus driver then left us at Shilin for dinner and we had to make our own way home. The food is on the left area while the shopping is on the right area. We tried the usual milk tea, ou ah jian and other delicious snacks.

Taipℓi - Day 1

Day 1 - 4 October 2008

We booked Jetstar Flight 3K 521 at 1300 hours(Terminal 1), expected arrival at Taipei was at 1740 hours. However, we landed 15 minutes earlier. Jetstar seats are comfortable and slighly more spacious than Tiger. The departing and landing were equally smooth too. Thumbs up!

# Tip 1 - Bring 1-2 sets of clothes and your daily facial needs..cause you can buy whatever you need at Taipei. Eat a heavy breakfast as by the time you reach Taipei, your stomach will be growling, though food are available on board the plane. E.g. Famous Amos at $3 and cup noodles at $5. Also, you may request for the emergency seats at a nominal fee of SGD$25 per pax if you want more leg-room.

Once we reached Taipei Taoyuan Airport, we booked the Free-Go service at 6.30pm to our Airport (exit from immigration counter, turn left). It costs about NT$14O per pax (SDG21.5 = NT$1, October 2008 exchange rate). Be prepared to change to another bus before arriving at your hotel. The bus will also be going to a couple of hotels before reaching Rainbow Hotel as well. At about an hour later, we arrived Rainbow Hotel, Xi Men Ding (about SGD$86 per night).

# Tip 2 - Free-Go alighting to Hotel and pickup to Airport is at the same place. So dont forget where is it!

I must say that Rainbow Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. They are very willing to provide directions and recommend nice place to eat. Though it was a small room, I am contented that they have the basic necessities. Afterall, we will be out whole day shopping and eating and all we need is a room with aircon and a nice comfy bed to rest.

# Tip 3 - You may book a one day tour at your hotel and our package includes a visit to the Shrine, Jiou Fen, Yeliou, Hot spring at Yang Ming Shan and Shilin Night Market. It was a good deal at NT$1000 per pax. Do leave your passports at the frontdesk as there is no safe in the room. Dont worry, it is safe.

After we checked in, we immediately left the hotel to satisfy our tummy..of course, we had to try out Taiwan's delicious snacks. We had to leave our hotel keys at the frontdesk (not a common practice elsewhere i guess)

Must try at Xi Men Ding:

1. Ah Zhong Mian Xian (Facing KFC, it is at the left lane)

2. Ou Ah Jian (near Rainbow Hotel, many other stores selling it)

3. Fried Chicken Cutlet

4. Ba Zhang (Uncle selling on its motorcyle. Not cheap about SGD$2 per piece)

5. Braised meat (e.g. Duck tongue, chicken wing)

6. Drinks - Milk Tea (MUST try!) and Qing wa xia dan

7. 7-11 - Taiwan beer tastes so much better than Tiger beer. Sushi rice, Cai ye dan, ooh long tea, omelette bread

8. Curry Shi Jie - something similar to Japanese curry

Must do at Xi Men Ding:

1. Take neoprint (its freaking 3 levels!) Their varieties are so much more than Bugis ones and at the same price! (MUST take). You can request to make the neoprints bigger..so fun!

2. Buy their shoes..very unique about SGD$18 per pair and their accessories (MUST buy)

3. Play their toys machine (where you put the money in and the 'hand-catcher' will grab the item you fancy. If you fail the first time, their staff will re-position the toy nearer to the hole so that it is easier for the toy to drop (haha..play cheat!) Because of that, Kelvin caught so many toys for me..yeah! about SGD$0.50 per try...worth it..(MUST try)

We went back to our hotel at about midnight to rest as we had to wake up at about 7 plus in the morning for the tour at 8.30am. Xi Men Ding shops closes about midnight..sobs

Taipei - Welcome to Taiwan!

I am counting down to Taipei...Leaving Singapore tomorrow at 1300 flight...I am so excited...still remember that I booked the trip only in July and now it is October...

My itinerary is confirmed and I hope everything goes as planned. I will share it on the blog when I am back.

Casio EX-Z80

I bought my Casio camera on Tuesday at Mustafa for $269. I definitely got the pink one. Its 8.1 megapixel. I kind of regretted not getting the Canon model but it is because they do not have the pink range like Sony or Casio! Kelvin told me that he will sponsor half of the Canon if i get it but i told him its ok since it is not pink. I dont know. It is weird why I will choose the color over the specs. Anyhow, this is the camera that i will be using at taipei tomorrow..

At Work

If you were me which will you rate as important during your career?

1. Job satisfaction -in terms of salary, benefits, working hours

My basic is alright. I am staying on because of my commission as i have built my own set of clientele so i dont wanna start afresh again when i get a new job.

2. Getting along with your colleagues and bosses - not being involved in politics

When there are people, there are politics. Looks like i cant escape from it. Even though my sales team is not that competitive to the extend that they treat you like enemies. But there is definitely alot of boot-licking going around in the department and i dont like it.

3. Recognition and Reward - your boss appreciating your effort and work.

My manager commented that my boss thinks we are not putting in effort to bring in sales. Well, i beg to differ because we are all so tied up with our existing contracts that we do not have time to go out. He should really sit at our table and try doing what we do for just one day. I dont think he knows how to use the system, answer customer enquiries or even know how much are our rates. So how can he make such remarks if he doesnt even know our workload at all? It really demoralizes the team spirit.

Watched House Bunny at Yishun GV yesterday with Kelvin. It was a "pink" show with nice pink outfits and practically everything was pink..maybe that was why i liked the show...hee..i guess every guy that was watching the movie was dragged by their gf...

I shall begin my first blog entry today...

So excited about going Taipei this Saturday as I do need a break from work. I know there is a typhoon at Taiwan now...so suay...hope it subsides or else it will really spoil my holiday mood. I have spent about couple of days planning the itinerary so i do not want it to go to a waste. Kelvin and I will be going for 5 days till next Wednesday. We have booked the budget airline - Jestar and it is going to be free and easy. Let's hope what i have planned is correct and we wont go the wrong place. I have gathered feedback from friends, research online from other taipei travellers and taipei websites. My colleague, laytin told me that 5 days may not be enough and 7 days should be just right. Maybe it is true cause my itinerary seems quite packed from morning - afternoon - evening - night...and it is mostly shopping...think Kelvin will be bored. But he will understand...haha

Hari Raya Puasa to all Malays out there..I have got an invite from my malay colleagues this afternoon. But dont think i will be going as i have some to do list to clear. We shared and bought each of them a table lamp from my colleague's dad shop. Hope to spend this afternoon fruitfully..
